River of Flowers

Friday: Globe Artichokes and Bees!

Another early morning, still very hot - storm forecast in next few days.
Fruit flies have found the Bramley apple windfalls so I chopped all the bad bits, cores etc and made compote with apples and shop bought plums. Birds got all the discarded apple bits and water thrown on garden under the bird feeder.
Picked a handful of mixed kale baby leaves, green and purple dwarf beans. Potted on Red Kale and purple sprouting broccoli - must remember to sow more seeds of kales “Red Russian” and “Cavollo Nero” for baby leaves and for winter/spring leaves.
Globe Artichokes are not so tall this year but have lots of flowers and the bees are lovingly them - the birds will enjoy them later in the year and in spring when they start nest building.
Happy Friday Everyone xxxx xxx xx
Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
