Archie meets a farmer
Couldn’t see the castle at the end of the street this morning - the haar was with us, but just for an hour or so, it soon cleared. Not so hot today, thank goodness, so I took the precaution of wearing my (summer) jumper when we went across the Meadows to George Square. Actually, I got the bus round (but walked back).
J and Archie walked there, of course. It was mobbed! Loads of wee kids - there must have been a few kids’ shows on that morning. In fact, these two young ladies were doing a kids’ puppet show. Their puppets were very good - Archie thought so too - he let that farmer puppet touch his nose.
It was too busy - no seats - and so we wandered off and had a coffee and a bun at, er, Starbucks. If you don’t let them serve you one of those huge gallon mugs of coffee, it’s surprisingly OK.
Back home, and I watched the women’s 100 Cricket (and dozed).
Off to the Lindisfarne concert tonight, and if we don’t get soaked going there, we WILL get soaked on the way back. But our bus stop is very near the venue, so with luck, we won’t get too wet.
Archie is spending a couple of hours with Pip, then Abi will pop him home whenever she likes.
I’ll post this but may add a PS when we get home, with a concert report.
I can hear the thunder starting now… (5.30pm)
PS The concert was fantastic! Such talented musicians. The venue was full of white haired or balding people, and when the music started, I looked down (we were up in the balcony) and the whole place was writhing and jigging along to the music. (Extra)
PPS We didn’t get wet - no rain yet!
