Bonjour, Aix-en-Provence

We arrived here last night around 9.30pm, tired,  and were disappointed with the room we were given -  very strange layout,  making some of it unusable,  despite it being quite big, ('superior') and hardly any space at the sides of the bed and generally just very tired looking.  We were told though that others would become available in the morning and we could look at them then and move. We didn't unpack,  crossing our fingers.  Good location though,  just 7 mins from the centre and old town.  

Relief this lunchtime when we were shown another MUCH nicer room and with a very nice and usable terrace,  where we can have our coffee in the morning and breakfast bits and bobs. Phew!  Chalk and cheese!  We moved,  unpacked and our mood lifted as we walked out in the afternoon.  Lots of wandering,  a lunch stop in Le Petit Bistro on the terrace,  more wandering,  and now having a break in our room before another walk out tonight.  Very hot and humid this morning,  but there was then a very heavy rain storm which has cleared the air a bit.
