Raining! Went down to the assembly rooms to watch Godspell performed by the Conservatoire MA group. Good energetic show - remembered all the songs eventually!
Stopped raining.Went for a browse around the shops. Found a new scent that I really like and bought some trainers. Then to the Italian that used to be Centotre for lunch. I had delicious crab ravioli and peaches ( actually half a peach) in masala. Delicious!
Went down to Traverse to watch This is Paradise ’ .Very well acted but the plot didn’t do anything for either of us. It was about a young woman’s past with a violent partner and potential miscarriage all (sort of) set against the background of the Good Friday agreement in NI. The venue was stuffy, I couldn’t get comfortable and it went on for a very long time and I found that I didn’t really care what happened. Never mind, there has to be one thing you don’t like otherwise it wouldn’t be the true festival experience!
Went up to the book festival in the ECA. Not many people there and I don’t really like the venue- it felt like the whole thing had been dumped in a car park . Essentially it had !
Found a new Chinese cafe near the Kings theatre for dumplings and shared a mixed platter- yum! After that we went to the Usher Hall for an orchestral performance of the rite of spring and something else that I can’t remember! Enjoyed it much more than I thought I would though hard to understand how it could be a ballet score- it was very fast in parts! Shame we couldn’t see all the orchestra. Had a chilly walk back and watched some of ballet on YouTube. It was fast!
