Grey Heron

The young one flew down from the top of the dovecote to meet me. She was followed by the crow. I gave the crow a bit of pollock and started feeding the young one her sardines. Before long the other two crows had arrived along with the juvenile herring gull I gave them all some pollock and continued feeding the young one. She then flew over to the water and was joined by the older female I went over and split the rest of their box between them then made my way round to the clearing. At the clearing the male was waiting so I gave him some sardines from the box I now take for the top end of the loch. I went a little further and found the youngest one. I  quickly gave it as much as possible because I new the male would appear and chase it, which it did, but not before it had a good feed. I gave the male the rest then left for home. 
This afternoon It was just my one and the youngest one, so they got a good feed.
I have been concerned about what I am going to do when the frozen sardine offer ends as it is very difficult to get anything other than pollock. I have just found an online retailer who can supply Sprats and Sardines at about the same price plus delivery so will try the out when the offer ends!
