goings

We took Chris to Lockerbie station at lunchtime. He was meant to get a train from Dumfries to Carlisle but all the Dumfries trains had been cancelled. I spoke to him this evening and he had caught the second to last train of the day from London Bridge to Gatwick, where his parents picked him up. Not quite as bad a journey as we had predicted, and the trains weren't crowded, hey ho.

Tonight D and Sarah have driven to St Helens, as we heard that my mother in law's health had taken a turn for the worse. Sarah has messaged to let me know that they have just arrived there safely, so now I can go to bed.

The photo is Sarah's car next to a new sign which has appeared beside the worst of our local potholes. To avoid them, you have to slow to a crawl and keep right to the (wrong) side of the road.
