Service stations

On a 436 mile journey from Hampshire to home in Edinburgh we made three stops at service stations on the way north.

At one I took a view of the tower structure typical of Forton service station on the M6. Perhaps an architecturally interesting blip. Perhaps fortunately when we stopped at Abington on the M74 this rural scene greeted us.

When we left Petersfield there was low cloud and a steady smirr of rain, ideal for softening the ground. Then cloud and sunshine all the way north. Some parts of the country were very dried out but in a few areas some green was appearing.
