Harvest
We headed north to Aberdeenshire to a recently opened five-van site near the coast just south of Stonehaven. As we travelled along, we saw lots of harvesting going on, as well as large fields where everything had already been gathered in.
After getting settled, Bertie and I went for a wee wander along a short woodland walk and it was the most surreal dog walk I have ever experienced. On either side of the path ornaments were displayed on small wooden plinths, teddies were stapled to tree trunks and a variety of “creatures” hung from branches. There was even a tree house where a sign invited us to have a cup of tea. Some of the items on display were quite new while others looked a bit worse for wear. It was all rather strange. There is just one example in the extra.
Thank you to all my blip friends who have been wondering how Bertie has coped with the travelling. He was sick a couple of times on our first day but we were travelling on quite winding roads. Yesterday we didn’t travel far so he was ok. Today, the wee fellow seemed to do really well, despite the fact that we were driving for at least two hours. If he could have more days like today where he has happy experiences after a sick-free journey, he just might enjoy his first summer holiday in the camper van. Fingers crossed.
