Traveller's Joy
Clematis vitalba. I spotted this on my walk back over the bridge from town this morning. Interestingly, where it was growing, very close to where the old railway line used to run alongside the Barnstaple Long Bridge, over the river Taw on its way up to Ilfracombe. The line which was opened in 1874, and
was closed in 1970. You can find further info on Wikipedia.
Back home, a quick check over the car ( first Parade we called it in the Army) oil, water, tyres. All done ready for a run down to Wildside Garden, and Buckland Abbey, along with Sue and Pen. Weather is looking good too.
