Action in the rubber tree

For the last week and more some katydids of various sizes - small, medium and large - have been hanging out in the rubber tree. Then in the middle of all this the praying mantis came back. I feel certain that it's the same one because of its markings. I've wondered if it would be open warfare between the katydids and the mantis, but the big ones would be more than a match for it.

Here we have the mantis eating a soldier fly. More size appropriate for a meal. Nature at its rawest.
