In My Chair

When we revamped the study last year, we bought two all singing, all dancing office chairs to use at our super new desk. Almost immediately, Mrs C sold her iMac and bought a MacBook. So she could use it in the lounge, at the dining table, in the kitchen. Basically anywhere except the study. The problem being that the new chairs were too big for both to be comfortably used at once. So we sold one of them and Mrs C brought in a dining chair if we did both need to work at the desk at the same time.
But…..the one remaining chair was still too big for the space. If I was working at the PC, no-one could get past to go out into the garden. And if I span round, I tended to knock stuff of the shelves behind me! And then I saw the ideal chair in M&S. Ideal in every respect except it’s price. So we started saving the vouchers M&S send us for using their credit card until we had enough (after adding in what we sold the old chairs for) to buy it without shelling out any extra.
And, in a moment of serendipity, the old one was picked up this morning just before the new one was delivered. Twenty minutes later and it was unpacked, assembled and in-situ. And it looks - and feels - so much better. Definitely the right chair for the space, just a shame we didn’t realise that nine months ago…
