Groyne 4

It was one of those glorious mornings which should be bottled and keep and brought out for those depressing winter mornings, waiting in the wings.

Sue and I were on the beach at 7:10am with the sun dazzling us and the sea clear and sparkling, stretching out before us. There was not a breath of wind and what was even better, the tide was high. It reminded us both of holidaying on a Greek Island and being on the beach at sunrise.

It was so lovely that we found it hard to come  out of the sea even though we knew that getting dressed is never easy with extremities becoming colder by the minute.

This was our last swim together for 2 months because of our upcoming holidays and so it was wonderful that it should have been so memorable.
For my part, I hope Stromness steps up to the plate although I have to say, today will take some beating
