God-sisters

Quite the adventure getting to Manchester to visit Eden and her family!
On my way into town to catch the 2nd train there was a major incident on the train track, meaning we had to all get off and get to the nearest bus stop. I met a lovely blind guy who'd got no clue where to go, so we went together. Such a lovely and interesting man. Finally got to the bus stop, the bus pulled up and who should be on it but Mom, Asha and Nate!!! So we all went in to town together and took new friend David to the station to catch a train the rest of his journey. Having missed my Manchester train I had a bit of time to have a coffee with Mom and the kids, and a chance to marvel at the randomness of bumping into them and of meeting David.
Train to Manchester was good and uneventful, as was my bus ride to Julia's house, except that I sailed on past my stop and didn't realise for a little while! Anyway, I found their place easily enough in the end! It's definitely a challenge navigating new places when you've got no way of contacting people or accessing maps! For some reason my Spanish phone doesn't work at all in the UK, only on wifi.
Brilliant to see Julia, Eden and Daveen. A delicious lunch and a good catch up...and then a lovely walk round Platt Field's Park. This is pretty much the only photo I took unfortunately. Great to see Tom when he got home too.
Smooth journey back to Birmingham thankfully. Got home to lots of excitement from the kids, regaling me with stories from their day.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) The absolute joy and honour of being asked to be Eden's godmother - I feel so delighted! Mine and Ju's parents are each of our godparents, and Ju and I are each other's daughters godmothers... As bulliblips put it, a spiral of godmothering, where will it end?!!! Ha!
2) The crossing of paths with David. Special to have that hour, probably to never meet again!
3) Mom (& Dad) looking after the kids all day and giving them such a great time, meaning I could visit Ju & Eden.
