Change of plan..in Gloucester

I’m sure that understandably many people have had their plans for today changed. We had come to Gloucester to stay with friends and watch the finish of the Tewkesbury to Gloucester stage of the Mens Bike Race  which was due to take place today and end very near their flat. However it has been cancelled and the final two stages tomorrow and Sunday too. There was also to be a sort of fair/ market with all stalls bike related which would have been interesting.

This afternoon we visited  Gloucester Cathedral and they had set up a condolence book for people to sign and there were lots of candle stands where you could light a candle and give a donation. There were quite a few people writing on the condolence books including some children aged about 9 or 10  with the their parents which was nice . I also saw lots of people lighting candles but was quite shocked that not one of the five I saw put any donation in the clearly marked box! I did give some money!

There was a nice photo and prayer alongside the books and candles but we were asked not to take photos.

Operation London Bridge…the code name for the arrangements for the funeral…will now get into full swing. Our son is involved with this so will no doubt be working this weekend.
