Tidewater Slough

Up early this morning. The coffee is on the dashboard. Drove south along the Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet to the Tidewater Slough near the Girdwood cutoff.

During the earthquake of 1964, this area dropped about 15-18 feet, creating a wetlands near the shore that has become the home of visiting birds and other wildlife.

Not too much color here yet. You can see that the trees are just beginning to bud out.
