Life through my eyes

A visit from the chocolate lady!

What a lovely lovely day!  A visit from fellow Blipper Mrs HCB, who did spy Mr T's bowl of chocolates when she arrived, however he was happy as she also brought chocolates.  No sooner had he opened them and they were gone!  However, this was an act of kindness as I needed to do Mr T's blood sugar two hours after his breakfast.  Mr T was unphased and said he was fine he had a tissue (which he does try to eat).

Dave the Book was here so we were able to go for a walk and it was so nice to have someone to chat to, and share the spots I like to go when I get out. Dave was slightly bemused, but after his legs were complimented (see extra) he was assembled with the two travelling members of the SSG for a selfie!  Mr T did his best to hide behind JH Ted but Mrs HCB was having none of it!

Mr T also had a visit from the nurses this afternoon.  I noticed a rather unpleasant smell this morning and I knew he was due a visit today but I called them to ensure it happened.  The nurse couldn't smell it but did say her sense of smell wasn't good!  She thought it was ok, but it looks very red and has been quite painful for him this afternoon.

Something I have noticed recently with Mr T is that as his other senses don't work as well, he seems to have an increased perception of kindness.  He has always been shy, but with some people, like Mrs HCB, the lovely kind and funny person emerges.  As he can't see people, more than just an outline he doesn't know faces or remember names too well, but if there is a memory, such as chocolate, then he'll say oh yes the chocolate lady.  He was shattered tonight though!

It was lovely to hear Mrs HCB chatting to him about his childhood memories, although they get muddled.  This morning he was surprised to wake up in his own bed and thanked me for driving back from Manchester during the night after seeing the Queen yesterday.  At the same time he is so clear and said he didn't like Dad taking advantage of me, or the way he just walks into our house and how he behaves!

I'm going to catch up on comments etc. tomorrow now.  New avatar courtesy of Mrs HCB.
