An away day in the Kingdom Of Fife

We were up at St Andrews for a silver wedding celebratory afternoon tea in held in Lower College Hall on the main quad of the university, the room where they had the reception in exactly 25 years previously. They even arranged for the weather to be as nice as nice as it was then.

Afterward we had a quick peep into the 15th century St Salvator’s Chapel on the other side of the quad where the wedding ceremory took place. Someone was playing the organ (no idea what was being played) and the atmosphere was so calm and peacefully subdued it was an effort to leave. The main and first extra were taken from the side door that we did our peeking from. The second extra is of the door that we entered to do the said peeking, this was no discount door from a Scandinavian retail outlet though it it may have come from one of their previous incursions into the kingdom of Fife. The last extra was taken of the 18th green on the Old Course as this group of ‘elderly’ golfers finished their round, the only spectators being us and the crows.
