goddesses

I've spent the day in Tynron at a workshop called "Exploring the Goddess" - a joint venture by Kerry (yoga teacher) and Ruth (ceramic artist). In the morning we did yoga and meditation and in the afternoon we took lumps of clay and turned them into goddesses, taking as our inspiration the prehistoric "Venus" figurines. I haven't made anything out of clay since primary school, but I really enjoyed the creative process. My two are on the right - we used river clay (which will dry white) and terracotta. Ruth has taken them home to fire in her kiln.

I cycled to Tynron and back - it was such a beautiful sunny day - and picked some blackberries on the way home which we have just eaten for tea :-)
