Fading Beauty

Do roses fret for their loss of beauty
as their blooms start to fade and dry
or do they merely sleep and dream
of next summer - knowing they will not die.
Just now they are wrinkled and faded
petals spotted and edged with brown 
but come next year buds will appear
new growth and beauty will abound.

A lazy day today, a lot cooler outside and in. 
The stove is lit but soon we’ll have to put the central heating on - ££££££!
Extra blankets on the beds. 

Don’t get me started on the trickle down economy! Grrrrr!
