Take a pew and a brew?

I met up with Nellie of The Woods for a drink and a chat at a new cafe thats opened up just round from the field where Oscar has his playdate. It used to be a bakery. It's not complete inside yet so is mostly doing takeaways from a hatch from their kitchen to customers outside. There were lots of people coming in cars, collecting their orders and setting off again - not quite a drive thru but similar! It's mostly a residential area but there are two small industrial estates nearby that I imagine they get a lot of customers from. There are a few tables and chairs inside and some lovely wooden benches and seats outside.  Nellie had cycled there and was waiting for me by this gorgeous woodwork. It's from a 17C church and then was used as a bar in Bodmin prison - for the jailer's not the inmates! The photo looks like it is 2 images but it is just one - you can see the curve of it in the extras!By the side of it there was a big black door with an eyehole and screws all over it that I had to go touch to see what it was made of. Well it was metal and it too came from a prison! A cell door! Apparently the husband loves collecting things and they had it for 3 years until it made it's way to their new cafe! I can't wait to see what else appears there! I think they bought the telephone box too!
We had a great chat about politics and the hencoop - I've been experiencing a Hengate as well as a Plantergate! I will tell you about the former tomorrow! Oscar and I shared a bacon butty - with lovely crispy rind! Yes over the last year I occasionally have a bit of meat!
