Sunday: Pappy

This morning, we checked out a local swimming hole we were recently told about.  It was in the local river and was pretty enough but the amount of rubbish around was really heartbreaking.  It’s a real issue here.

Later in the day we went with K&T to visit the Belize Bird Sanctuary.  It’s run by a British woman, Nicky, who also happens to be the mother of the woman who runs ‘Corkers’ where we went yesterday evening.  Nicky nurses injured birds back to rehabilitation, where that’s not possible she gives them a permanent home.  

This is Pappy who is somewhere in his late thirties.  He’s lovely but a little grumpy.
