Birthday roses

I received these beautiful roses from daughter Penni in NYC for my birthday yesterday. Such a wonderful surprise, she knows how I love flowers.
A busy day today with a church meeting, visitors, and an 80th birthday  concert for a well known musician in our city. How load shedding affects our lives - the concert was scheduled for 6pm but had to be changed to 4pm due to load shedding. Just as the last item of the concert finished the power went off! Perfect timing - at least we could still enjoy drinks afterwards before it was dark.
Tomorrow invited guests will meet for a birthday breakfast - thankfully no load shedding is scheduled for that time, although most hotels have backup generators now.
