The tension was high.

A full morning which included a presentation by a medical student to all the staff at the CMHC (actually to the eight or so who attended, but all were invited). He did very well with an interesting topic. The other interesting aspect was that he inadvertently demonstrated why research from India may well offer opportunities that are unlikely in a more economically developed country. The researchers had readily found the number of subjects they needed because many patients don't get treated with modern medicines, and misuse of addictive drugs is probably much less in the more rural areas of India.

I had another good jog later this afternoon, and was rewarded when two Tui started into what I believe to have been mating behaviour. As can be seen in the photo, they fluffed up to appear twice their size. Only a matter of seconds after I took this photo, they sped elsewhere.

The extra is of a flowering plant on the side of the road. I am guessing that it is not a native plant of New Zealand, and that it is regarded here as a weed. But I don't know what it is
