Moni to Bajawa

The bus collects us at 6. It only manages to blast out 4 tracks before relapsing to silence. The drive is steeply up to a volcano surrounded valley full of paddy fields, and steeply down the other side.

Bajawa. Great market town. We investigate all the hotels, turn our noses up, find one where they keep us in a hobbit hole at the back, but at least there is a stunning view over tree-lodged roosters and volcanoes. We hire a motorbike from our taxi man and discover satay and guacamole.
