Painter Man
Just over a year ago, I blipped about how the paint we got to cover up some bits of damaged/stained paintwork in our Chester flat was not quite the right shade, in spite of having checked with the previous owner as to what they had used.
After toying with various other shades and possibly redecorating the whole room, I decided to get a new pot of the “correct” shade mixed up - the previous one had only been a tester pot so I reasoned that perhaps a full size tin would mix up better and be closer to what was on the walls.
Wrong! It was closer, but still just different enough that I couldn’t only paint the affected areas. However, it was close enough that I could get away with doing only the one wall that was affected, as the natural shadows in the corners will disguise the very slightly different shades.
I’m pretty pleased with the result. It’s not yet completely dry, but all the previously filled areas have “disappeared” and there is no obvious “join” in the corners. And why have I suddenly done this after a year of inactivity? Because the estate agent is coming round tomorrow to view it prior to it going on the market, that’s why!
I wonder if we can put “newly decorated” in the description?
