Krka National Park
Up early, 7am, the tour operator asked could we be ready for an 8am depart instead of 9am, as the other group on the bus were being picked up, "just before 8am" from their cruise ship, as they had to be back on board the ship by 4pm and the earlier departure meant that we could have a full day in the park - so we accommodated them, and guess what, they were 30 minutes late. They had to get the 'tender' from the ship to shore and they weren't on the first tender, we were not pleased.
We eventually set off for the National Park, one of many in Croatia. The group were Americans (and Mormons), and they were very nice people, except, they wanted to do what they wanted to do, and we didn't get a look in. However, that didn't detract too much from the day.
Krka National Park is spectacular, the waterfalls were breathtaking. Our guide was very good, explained all the different aspects of Croatian life, work, cooking and general living.
At one point he took us to a restaurant which had two spit roasts - on one was a lamb and the other was a pig, which had only just been put on the spit as it was still pink and raw. One of the American women asked, and I kid you not "is that a pig on that thing", I nearly choked - she was a vegetarian.
The picture is of one of the many watefalls in the park.
