Orangutan… Sunbear…Proboscis monkey

An amazing day seeing endangered species in their habitat; orangutans in the Sepilok Rescue Centre, 9 young ones from the nursery , learning and playing together… and an adult female ( possibly pregnant) at the feeding station. The fact there was only 1 was good news as it shows the rehabilitated orangutans are fending for themselves.
Then on to Sunbear Conservation centre; sadly these were rescued as pets / traps or being traded for medicine.
Finally after lunch to the Labuk Bay proboscis monkey sanctuary, where the monkeys’ food is supplemented.

So worth the 4 am wake up for the 5 am pick up for the 7am flight of 26 minutes up to Sandakan!
