The Golden Circle

Today was a day called the Golden Circle - breakfast was much more organised and lunch arrangements too. Out of the accommodation and this time we did start at the Kerid crater - a scoria cone. On to Gullfoss - a wonderful waterfall with a gorge which can be seen here. From there it was to Efstidalur - otherwise known as 'the ice-cream farm', for some of their wonderful ice cream. Onwards to Geysir to watch Strokkur erupt and then it was a finish at Thingvellir - where the plates move apart along rifts - wonderful light. Back to the hostel and the rain was falling again as we got back there. Nice evening meal and a beer.
