Trio Again!

Another field play with the three Bergers - but this time with The Frenchman - The Exiles partner! It was really windy so they were in high spirits - even Ginger who is 11 and going blind! back to mine for a coffee - 2 hours later he left! He does like to talk! He was a little down when speaking of his health - it's suspected the chemo has damaged his kidneys so he is facing regular dialysis. I think he is just tired of all the hospital admissions and treatments. He perked up when the conversation came round to politics and  the issue of can one separate an artist from their work when the artist has an unsavoury / illegal / fascist personal life. This was prompted by the tv programme where the audience chose which of two pieces of Art should be burned. The programme itself was open to question - was it a serious discussion or just sensationalist. I think it brought the issue open to a wider audience who perhaps have never questioned this but I must admit when a Picasso piece of pottery was up for being destroyed I was aghast! I still don't know where I stand on this issue - maybe it depends on the individual artists or piece of art. One piece was a painting by Hitler - fascists would love to own it, despite it being a poor painting. Should it be exhibited, bought, placed in a museum as part of history?
