Diary of an Edinburgher

Party time?

A VERY noisy ‘party’ went on last night. And on. And on… with crowds outside talking very loudly on the pavement and groups coming and going on the stairs yelling, screaming, stomping like cart horses. They were also in large groups outside, talking loudly - the neighbour across the road took a photo.

I went up to the flat this morning to tell them that it’s not acceptable. I spoke to all the girls, who were very contrite - they had gatecrashers and it got out of hand. In fact, the young woman I spoke to in the flat said she’d been in her bedroom with headphones on - she had nothing to do with it.

I met the two culprits outside, coming home with breakfast. I think they’ve learned their lesson - they GO to parties, they don’t HAVE them. Some of the residents want to go straight to the landlord and complain, but I’m willing to give them another chance.

Our friend from Canada is in Edinburgh for a month - she will look after Archie while we are away, and went along to the gym with JR this morning. She is joining the gym for her time here. Good on her! Though I think she found JR’s class this morning quite tough…

Denise came for Archie today, which was great, and I took him out round the Meadows this afternoon while JR cleaned the oven. He has a new bed - he often sat in Hamish’s bed, and indeed, Pip’s bed when they were here. He used to have a big bed, but never used it, preferring the sofa, or even better - the bed. He has sat in it a couple of times so far. But he didn’t budge at all last night on the sofa. Still hoping his little ‘turns’ are staying mild and therefore manageable.

Enjoyed that extra hour sleeping this morning.
