Bamburgh Castle

Rose early and caught the sunrise.  The beach and altered again with swathes of gathered pebbles in swathes vertical to the shoreline.

Further along I reached smooth boulders, facsimiles of the small pebbles.

A few others had risen and walked the beach to catch the dawn.  One couple and I struck up conversation.  They had moved to the area three years ago from Cheshire.  They were perfect PR for this town and nearby Berwick. After Cheshire they welcomed the easy-going atmosphere and friendliness.  I feel that after only a week.  I haven't seen much litter on the beach or anywhere apart from firework sticks and a plastic bottle top which I binned.   No discarded masks, nitrous oxide glass bottles, broken glass which are ubiquitous on my street at home.

After lunch drove to Bamburgh to walk along the beach.  The last time we'd walked here had been with the hound.

Sun was setting fast.  OH disappeared into the distance. I wasn't sure if Seahouses was the destination.  It was getting cold and sunless.  I figured if I didn't follow, the wanderer might turn round. It worked. OH informed that when walking with pals the habit was to walk too far which meant a return in the dark.  This was news to me.

Got back after 4pm.  Sorry to have missed 'The Next Chapter' maybe next time.  Had a brief walk on the prom getting a last shot of the moon over the sea.  Last night in Spittal.  It's been a much needed break, brilliant, relaxing and inspiring.

Pleasant evening everyone
