A bit of culture

The Rhododendron Festival was a great success today, especially for the Rotary club. We kept sending for more supplies for the BBQ and all the waratahs we collected yesterday were sold in 4 hours.
All I wanted to do after that was to go to the Office and have a beer but we needed to spruce ourselves up for dinner at The Chalet in Medlow Bath with entertainment from opera singer Brad Cooper, who was sensational.
You learn something every day even at my age - I discovered “You’ll Never Walk Alone” came from the ‘50s musical Carousel. I always thought Gerry and the Pacemakers performed the original and the best cover version emanated from The Kop at Anfield.
