Surprise parcel

A chicken 'cushion' from a local butcher.  Apparently it is a whole boned chicken wrapped in bacon for roasting.  Thought I would give it a try for 4 friends who are coming for supper tonight.  Also going to steam a jam sponge in my slow cooker for the first time.  I usually use a steamer on my hob.  They are old friends (in both senses) and are happy to accept any of my experiments.
Message on my answer phone when I got home from the shop from one of the couples to check it is tonight they are due.  Need I say more!
