Chim Chim Cher-ee

The unseasonably warm weather of late meant that I had to drag the lawn mower out of winter storage as the grass has started growing again. I could have left it, but if this winter is at all wet, I’d just end up with a quagmire instead of a back lawn. It was also quite handy, because I’d given the tree it’s annual prune yesterday so there were a lot of leaves and twigs lying around, which have now been swept up by the mower. I was going to blip the end result, but it was a fairly uninspiring picture. Then I turned round and spotted how well this plant was doing in the old chimney pot by the back door. Mrs C can’t remember what it is, only that there were two of them once. They both seemed to die back last year but this one recovered following a transplant to its new location. Any suggestions as to what it is, gratefully received.
PT sessions for both of us this morning so we’re feeling a bit tired now. Unfortunately, no chance of just lazing around this evening as we are off out to The Coro in Ulverston for an evening with Ned Boulting. For those not familiar with the name, he presents ITV’s coverage of the Tour de France and has written several amusing books on the subject. Tonight is billed as a “behind the scenes” look at how what we see on our TV screens is actually produced.
Should be entertaining, and another evening where we don’t have to worry about turning the heating on at home!
