The old window

This is the perfect spot for the geranium. It catches the sun but has a nice dark background. I really like our neighbour's window that gives onto our courtyard. The wood and stone look like they have been there for ever. I don't know how they will replace it when the woodworm finally wins the day.

It has been a lazy bank holiday. I don't know why VE day is a public holiday in France but not in England. It should be. I had intended to take a photo of the commemorations outside the Mairie but it was too late when I remembered.
