Snowdonia Blipmeet
It’s nearly two months since our last foray into Snowdonia proper, and today’s return is real balm for the soul.
As we drive along the A5 and turn at Capel Curig, the landscape opens up, autumn colours glowing in the sunshine though Snowdon’s peak remains shrouded in cloud. After days of rain and grey skies, it’s hard to believe that the mini blipmeet with Marpaul has been blessed with such glorious weather, and we’re able to walk along the first part of the Watkin Path in sunshine, moving through woods onto the mountain moorland overlooking the Watkin pools - the cooler temperatures a welcome reassurance that the seasons may just be getting into line. As usual with blip meets, conversation is delightful and wide ranging - and of course there is the joy of lovely Misty’s presence so at home in this glorious landscape.
All too soon the sun slips behind the mountains and a November chill descends as we return to the valley bottom and say our goodbyes. I’m ready for home as we start on our hour-long journey - but just after setting off Snowdonia has another treat in store. We’re passing the still-black waters of Llyn Gwynant, a perfect mirror for the trees and rocks and bracken-coated slopes of the opposite bank. Of course, I have to stop and brave the early evening chill for yet more shots.
With apologies for my usual indecision, it’s a set today - I find it nigh impossible to decide on my main. I’ve gone with Snowdon, but I may well change!
Thanks so much for the response to yesterday’s chimney silhouette- your comments, hearts and stars are very much appreciated!
