of Beech leaves forced me to take great care on this narrow track above the river. There had been an overnight frost and temperatures were still only 3°, rising to 5° later in the day. However, because it was bright and calm, it felt much warmer. A winter sun shone most of the day. Squirrels , Tits and Buzzards were in the woods along the banks.
