I wanted to return to Farfield Mill to have another look at an exhibition we saw briefly during the tapestry weaving workshop I went on. Gordon was keen to try again the Sunday lunch at ‘The Black Bull’ in Sedbergh. So we drove along the lovely road from Kirkby Stephen in the sunshine. We had another splendid lunch, including some of the best desserts ever, made a brief visit to the Mill and returned home in the rain.
Waterline
This is an installation of handwoven tapestries on the theme of the flow of a river. It is comprised of the work of fifteen weavers from around the world, each interpreting the theme in their own style and focusing on landscape important to them as individuals. The piece to the right is that of Anna Wetherell who was our tutor for the workshop - the landscape is that of the Howgills. It’s an impressive, and rather lovely, exhibition.
