The Everyman

This evening we went to see 'The Banshees Of Inisherin', written and directed by Martin McDonagh, and starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. If you're a film fan, you might recognise this gang from the excellent 'In Bruges'.

And this is similar in a handful of respects: Colin Farrell's character is somewhat bewildered by life, it's beautifully shot, and well acted, with an undercurrent of black humour.

The story itself, well, no spoilers here, but I have to say that it only made sense to me as a metaphor for the civil war that exists as a backdrop to the film. (But I'm not sure if that's right; I've not seen anyone else saying it.)

And for today's photo, you get the plush interior of The Everyman.
