Country Road Views

We spent a leisurely morning at the hotel, had a nice breakfast, said morning prayers and packed up. We had to get salad and bananas but then headed to the farm. We were wise to let the temps get above freezing so the sun could melt the ice. We really did not need 4-wheel drive until we were on the last stretch of state road and the long gravel drive to my sister’s home. Thought I’d share a few scenes along the way. The view is a bit different with the leaves gone. We got here without incident around lunch time but we really were not hungry. One of our friends from town was visiting. We got unpacked, visited, and snuggled with Sugar who I hear was missing me. My sister made chili and all the “fixings” to go with it including cornbread and rice for dinner. We enjoyed the evening sitting by the Christmas tree that they put up yesterday. Cell service has been pitiful. We are unable to make calls and I finally sent and received a few texts tonight. Thought I’d have to send my blip without a quote from town tomorrow but I have one bar so I’ll try to send it tonight. Thanks for the visit. Stay safe and healthy. Reading journals may be impossible this week unless we get to town for a few hours. “gravel roads, bonfires, deer hunting, 4-wheeler riding through fields of mud, and some good ole country friends.....
…...most girls would say heck no to the country life but my reaction would be a big ole redneck heck yeah” - unknown
