Da Islander

A beautiful calm and sunny day, and continued into the night (well, moonlight after 4pm).

Another early shift in the airport.  The day started on the check-in desk, then moved to meeting and boarding flights until lunchtime.  Back to the check-in desk in the afternoon.  Missed the lovely evening, as I've been working in the shop.  A busy night with the fine night, plenty of folk out and about.  Early to bed.

There's still no fire coverage at Tingwall Airport, so we are still providing service for the small island flights.  Obviously they aren't as busy as our flights, but we are seeing plenty of folk coming and going to both Fair Isle and Foula.  Always good to chat with a friendly face and catchup on the local news.  This is the small Britten-Norman Islander, reg G-SICB, which has 10 seats, including the pilot.  I've not travelled in her for a few years now, last time I got taken around the cliffs of Foula in her, loved it.  Taken at Sumburgh Airport.
