Bowing To The Inevitable
It was a very grey day today with hardly a ray of sunlight to be seen. We didn't really feel like leaving the house at all today if I'm honest but by midday we were beginning to feel slightly stir crazy so we decided to rouse ourselves.
I must admit we didn't really get that far - we just headed to the nearby village of Bearsted for a pint and a bowl of chips at The Oak On The Green.
After our imbibements and potato based repast we decided a walk around the green itself would be a good idea. The gloom had lifted just a tad and I was still determined to get my image for the day. I'd noticed the the large Christmas tree next to the cricket pavilion with its rather blowsy red and yellow bows as we arrived and had already earmarked it as a possible blip.
I must confess I wasn't feeling particularly predisposed to any early yuletide spirit after the seriously underwhelming Christmas market in our village (see previous blip 26th November) so I have tried to make this shot of the tree a bit more of an abstract image (I'm not sure I've succeeded but I do really like the combination of the yellow bow and the pop of red from the door of an adjacent cottage in the background) but Im sure the I'll get there soon because I do love Christmas.
