Late green manure

I grow so much green manure that I often forget where I've broadcast seeds until they germinate. Like this awkward (because small and narrow) bed in between my asparagus beds. I noticed the first ryegrass seedlings pushing through the woodchip mulch I covered the seeds with. 

I don't think the soil there is nutrient poor as I regularly mulch and manure the asparagus beds, but every little helps and you can't go wrong with green manure!
