A Snowy Swim

There was no swim down at the Quays this morning so Jackie and Cath had arranged to meet at Carrbrook in Stalybridge. I saw Gale yesterday and mentioned it to her and she said she would love to go to. I had expected it to be a bit icy after all the cold weather we’ve had but it was a snowy morning that greeted us at 8:30 am.

The water was 3° and the snow kept falling as we swam. It was absolutely amazing. It was freeeeeeeezing, but amazing. I loved it. Gale dipped in and got out as she’s not been in cold water for a long time. We were swimming for about ten minutes. We were sensible. In, enjoy, get dressed with lots of layers and had a hot drink, then walked briskly back to the car. Heated seats on and home for breakfast. Brilliant.
