walk

The temperature outside rose above freezing this morning, but I still counted 26 blackbirds and a robin foraging under the apple tree when I went out to stack the wood.

I spent most of the morning writing Christmas cards, and reading the cards and letters sent by people last year. I like this time of thinking about people who I rarely see but who are still part of our lives in some way.

In the afternoon, Joanna and I went for a walk across the fields and had a good catch up. the late afternoon light was beautiful so we stopped for a selfie :-)
