Diary of an Edinburgher

In and Out!

Pip came this morning, which means I can’t stay a-bed for too long, reading the day’s news. And there was quite a lot, with Hazza and Megsy’s latest ‘truthbombs’ dropping.

The dogs were out in the back garden for quite a while - still a bit of snow there. And so when JR came back from the gym, had some breakfast, popped out for a hair cut, then had her other breakfast, we all took a walk along to the Post Office. So while I popped in, JR and the dogs waited outside, but there was no queue this morning!

They all walked back via the graveyard, and I got a bus into town. I’ve been meaning to go and get an item in M&S (readying myself for returning to the gym in January) and I also want to get a photo of the Mound with the lovely Christmas lights.

But when I came out of M&S, and checked the time, it was only 12.50. Far too early for the ‘blue hour’ and far too long for me to hang about town - town was mobbed. I came round the corner and looked up at my bus stop. YES! My bus was there! I hurried up the street, and lots of folk were getting off, and even more folk were getting on, so I had plenty of time, I needn’t have hurried.

And so I was back home just after the others! We watched the next episode of H&M’s ‘truth’ then JR popped out to visit Mr Waitrose and Mr Mellis. (19,370 steps!)

I’m still worrying about this travel insurance, and keep thinking of wee things that maybe I should have mentioned… eg my arthritic thumb, because I’ve had an injection into it. Will that affect me on my holiday? No! But will it affect any travel insurance claim I may have to make if I haven’t mentioned it? Yes. I may have to ring them and fess up (and they’ll add a few more £££s).
