Procession of light
A bit of blip cheat today because the photo was sent by a friend. Her great niece lives in Sweden and traditionhas it that Lucia is to wear ‘light in her hair’, which in practice means a crown of electric candles in a wreath on her head. Saga was chosen to play St Lucia with each of her handmaidens carries a candle as well
I do feel we have a lot to learn from the Nordic countries on how we embrace winter and adverse weather.
The icy conditions stymied my walking plans again today and I mooched around for most of the day reading and catching up on the BBC adaptation of the The Subtle Knife to be ready the final series tomorrow, faster than re-reading the book.
And then a very jolly soirée with neighbours, delightful folk, great conversation, some in Gaelic and Spanish, and the most delicious sticky toffee pudding ever. I may regret offering to host a tapas evening.
