Tradition
Hubby had an early doctor appointment. I got up soon after he left. There are always so many last minute jobs so I attacked them. Hubby picked up meds ( seems like an every day occurrence), took care of my last minute grocery needs (fresh bananas, rolls, pecan halves, etc). The weather was nasty but certainly better than most folks in our country were experiencing. We had high winds all day and the temperature dropped all day. It is 16° F now (11:03 pm). We started our second session of baking and finished at 10:45. Actually, I left the dish pan to get this published before midnight. After I snapped the blip shot, I filled everyone’s cookie tins and we put them in my car with the ones Kristen made up for the same 9 families. Today’s cookies were more time consuming to say the least. Each family member has a favorite. This display is a representation of what they request every year. It is one of their favorite traditions. I certainly cannot skip either one. Thankfully, a few like the same kind. I made one new recipe this year: toffee refrigerator cookies with a Hershey kiss. I’ll see how the critiques go. Hoping you are ready for the big day. Our girls are both feeling better. They will retest tomorrow. Stay safe and healthy folks. I promise to get back to your journals soon.
