There and back again

Emma. (Daughter No3)

Mrs M and I were invited on the Sunday Expedition today with Duty Navigator Emma in charge of route planing and daughter Jane as the whipper in.

Not a great day weather wise, thick mizzel and limited visibility. Emma's expedition routes are renown for adventure and the unknown!! and today lived up to its reputation.

Leaving Princetown along the old railway track we soon branched off into the broad open spaces where we picked up a wonderful old lane that lead us directly to the Dartmoor Inn at Merrivale, Distance 6 miles. 10/10 points for the first leg.

At this point Mrs M and I were deposited in the bar whilst the other two went to fetch the car, so we tucked to cheese burgers and chips with several pints of tea in front of a log fire and waited Another 10/10 for the second leg

They returned in about an hour to find two pints of lemonade & lime ready to wash down their lunch, which primed Mrs M to find room for a "Sticky toffee pudding"

On arriving back to drop Emma off at her house we were given a venison casserole by Mick the other half, to take home for our dinner! Another 10/10 points for the last leg.

Was this a great day out or what?
