Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

What a nice day we had. Started quite early, with lots of rustling in the lounge… I knew exactly what it was - Archie poking around in the bags of presents - he’d found his one from Elizabeth - full of doggie treats. So glad he hadn’t noticed them in the middle of the night!

We all went out for a walk round the Links, and then came back and opened presents. Once again, we were spoiled, with lots of fun things, chocolate, bubbles, and a couple of groovy tea towels.

I got a lovely new velvet shirt, and it’s so nice I decided to discard my Christmas jumper and get dressed up for the day! This was the only photo taken, so it’ll have to do. New shirt and new book (Soho House!)

We had a traditional turkey breast lunch, with plenty of roast veges and peas and red cabbage. We were too stuffed to attempt the pudding - tomorrow.

Brian and Jan (and Maggie) came along later, and we had a most pleasant afternoon with more tasty nibbles, including a spectacular large baked Brie with cranberry sauce and chopped roasted pecan nuts.

We’ve certainly over-indulged today, and we’re still going - chocolates and coffees while we watch look for something to watch on tv and doze off.

Happy Christmas to all!
